Cee’s Flower of the Day Challenge
I love the name Petunia. It is a name that should belong to a book.

It says that petunia symbolises anger and resentment . Probably that is why J.K Rowling must have opted to call Harry Potter’s aunt, as Petunia.
Then there is the blue skunk Petunia from Happy Tree Friends Cartoon Series. In the series she always suffers gruesome fate like being sucked into a drain, face being fried on a burger grill, having her organs impaled and popped out by bed springs. Yeah..it was a series for kids.

Beautiful flower and to me Petunia sounds like a Russian or East European girlish name 🥰

Lovely photographs but strange symbolism. Maybe that’s why petunias rank low on my list of favourite flowers.

True…I wonder why would they associate a flower with negativity, when no part of it is poisonous..

Some of anger, resentment yet still symbolizing hope…

Reblogged this on By the Mighty Mumford and commented:
and on the kids’ TV show “CAPTAIN KANGAROO….” “i’M A LONELY LITTLE PETUNIA IN AN ONION PATCH…AN ONION PATCH….AN ONION PATCH,,,OH, WON’T YOU COME AND PLAY WITH ME…?”

After enjoying the beauty of Petunia, you read it’s description.
Out of anger, you look again at the flower and make a mental note, ‘the one who wrote that about Petunia was a psychopath’.
