Tablet of the Double Headed Eagle.

16th Century Stone Tablet from the the ruins of St Augustine’s Tower in Old Goa.

The image is intriguing with a double headed eagle with its heart pierced by an arrow. One of its claws holding something similar to a monster head and a snake in the beak of one head and a Jewish Torah in the other. There is a water cistern overlooking the tablet.

A web search yielded the link to the blog by Beautiful Life which had some information.

A clipping of an article written by Ivar Fjeld in 2008, from another blog by daortagoa, credits it to be of Hittite Origin..

I weren’t much of a history buff. But of late, I feel like I could hear the artefacts calling out with the stories of their existence .
