Walk Away

Walk away
from everything
that
stifles,
restraints,
represses,
silences,
belittles you.

Walk away
from everything
that makes you
stressed,
nervous,
afraid,
unsettled,
livid,
bitter and
desolate.

Walk away
with grace,
with dignity,
with head held high.
Hold back the tears
and just walk away.
Keep walking,
till you are you again,
in the new sunshine.

  1. I’m sending this back in time to myself 15 to 20 years ago. One thing about stress is that if it’s an occasional thing in small amounts, it can help us grow. But if it’s chronic, ongoing, or unnecessary, walk away.
