No matter what historians claimed, BC really stood for ‘Before Coffee.’- Cherise Sinclair
Is there anything more luxurious on earth than coffee, sofa and a book?
Coffee is more than a beverage.
It is morning’s warm embrace of love.
It is nostalgia.
It is friends and gossip and laughter.
It is inspiration.
It is easy communication during office breaks.
It is drug.
It is a sponsor of good mood.
I can go on and on and fill pages with what coffee means to me and other coffeeholics.
My best image of coffee is black.
Black coffee reminds me of my mother and University days. Her early morning cups of black coffee with a dollop of ghee. Blowing into the cup to see the melted ghee making golden patterns on the surface…
Then life continued happening, with coffee as my best friend and confidante. Always black , with sugar and ghee. Till I met my love, Irish Coffee in 1999.
I have tried varieties of coffee across different outlets and caramel macchiato and cafe mocha are two of my favorites.
Finally I have settled down with cappuccino made without a machine at home, but tastes equally good. Now this is my demon slayer.
Recipe for Cappuccino without machine. This is how I love it !!!
In a saucepan heat the milk and the cinnamon stick just until milk comes to a boil.
Turn heat down and let milk simmer for 10 minutes.
Remove the cinnamon stick from the heated milk.
Pour 1/2 cup of instant coffee decoction in the cup and add sugar to taste.
Now pour the hot milk, raising it high.
Sprinkle ground cinnamon or chocolate dust and serve hot.
I often alternate between vanilla and cinnamon flavors making my coffee a magical potion, my own spell for love and healing.
A good coffee is never complete without an equally seductive coffee mug.
I get drawn by them. I collect them.
Here is my favourite one. The Libran special.
“People say money can’t buy happiness. They Lie. Money buys Coffee, Coffee makes Me Happy!”
